About Us

Butty Bach was born quite recently, after I became a mum to my beautiful little boy, Archie in November 2024. I absolute adore being his mum (best job ever!) but I also felt like I’d lost touch with the creative side of myself. What started as a way to find a bit of creativity again during motherhood, quickly grew into something I completely fell in love with doing, designing fun, playful, and slightly edgy clothing for babies and kids. This was paired with trying to find clothing that suited both mine and my husbands alternative style.

The name Butty Bach means a lot to me. Growing up in the Welsh Valleys, my grandparents would often call us “butty” or “butty bach,” which means little friend. At just 5ft tall, I guess I’ll always be a "small friend” ha! and now I get to create pieces for your little ones too.

My designs will also be inspired by all the things I love, other than being a mam which is 90% of my personality these days. I have always enjoyed alternative music, mainly rock, metal and indie, and got tagged as an ‘Emo’ in my teens, I still wear that like a badge of honour, can confirm it wasn’t just a phase and ‘emo’ Sarah comes out in the way I dress now and again. My happy place is hanging upside down with my circus clan, my favourite apparatus is aerial hoop and silks, I can’t wait to introduce Archie to this world. I’ve worked in architecture and construction for the past 9 years after studying to be an architectural technologist. And last, I adore all animals and have a fur family which includes my dog Luna and three cats Biffy, Fleur and Freddie.  So you may see some of these things influence my designs, each piece will have a bit of that spirit in it: fun, playful, a little rebellious, but always super cute. 

Butty Bach is still new, but it’s built on heart, roots, and the joy of making something special for the little (and not-so-little) people in our lives. From one small friend to yours, I hope you love these designs as much as I’ve loved creating them.
